A Mobil 1 Oil Change Near Me, Without the Wait

The Mobil 1 oil change is the core of what we do at Hogwash Oil Change Center. It is a drive-thru service at 1600 US-46 in Parsippany: you pull in, stay in your vehicle, and our technicians change the oil and filter and check your fluids. No appointment is necessary.

We use Mobil 1 oils exclusively. Mobil 1 is known for superior engine protection, efficiency and performance, and using premium Mobil 1 oil helps prevent engine wear and sludge and helps extend a vehicle’s lifespan. Whether your engine calls for advanced full synthetic or a high-mileage formula, Mobil 1 gives long-lasting reliability.

Our technicians provide fast, reliable oil changes with attention to detail, using the latest equipment. Enjoy fast service, friendly staff and competitive prices, all while staying in your vehicle. Whether you are a local driver or just passing through Parsippany, we are here to keep your engine running smoothly.

Motor oil does several jobs at once. It lubricates moving parts so metal does not grind against metal, carries heat away from hot components, and holds contaminants in suspension so the filter can catch them. As oil ages it loses those qualities, which is why a regular oil change is the single most important piece of routine maintenance for most vehicles.

— FULL SYNTHETIC —

Full Synthetic Oil Change Near Me

If you are looking for a full synthetic oil change near you, Mobil 1 advanced full synthetic is one of the oils we use. Synthetic oil is engineered for consistency. It flows readily when the engine is cold and holds up under heat, which suits the stop-and-go traffic and the cold winters and hot summers that North Jersey drivers deal with.

Many newer vehicles specify synthetic oil from the factory. Your owner’s manual, and often the oil fill cap under the hood, will list the viscosity grade your engine needs, such as 0W-20 or 5W-30. Using the grade the manufacturer calls for matters as much as the brand.

If you are not sure what your car takes, tell us the year, make and model when you pull in or when you call 973-335-3000, and we will match the oil to the vehicle.

— HIGHER MILEAGE —

High Mileage Oil Change for Older Engines

Mobil 1 also makes high-mileage formulas, and we use them for engines that have covered a lot of ground. High-mileage oils are formulated for older engines, where seals and gaskets have aged and wear has built up over the years.

Whether a high-mileage oil is the right choice depends on the engine and its condition, and on what the manufacturer specifies. Ask our technicians about it during your visit. The aim is the same as with any oil change: keep the engine protected so it keeps running smoothly for as long as possible.

Regular oil changes matter more, not less, as a vehicle ages. Sludge and deposits build up faster in engines that go too long between changes, and an older engine has less margin for that.

— HOW IT WORKS —

What Does an Oil Change Include?

Every Mobil 1 oil change at Hogwash includes the oil, a new filter and a fluid check. Here is how the visit goes.

1. Pull in. Drive to 1600 US-46 during opening hours, Monday through Saturday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. There is no appointment and no booking to make.

2. Stay in your vehicle. The oil change is drive-thru. The technicians drain the old oil, replace the oil filter, refill with the right Mobil 1 oil for your vehicle and check your fluids while you stay in the car.

3. Drive out. Pay, and you are back on Route 46. The Hogwash car wash is at the same location if you want to combine the visit with a wash.

How often you need an oil change depends on the vehicle, the oil and how you drive. Your owner’s manual gives the manufacturer’s interval, and many vehicles have an oil-life monitor on the dashboard. Short trips, heavy traffic and extreme temperatures are all considered harder driving, so follow the severe-service schedule if that describes most of your trips.

Pair Your Oil Change With Other Maintenance

An oil change is a good moment to catch up on other routine maintenance. Many drivers pair it with a tire rotation, since the two tend to fall due on similar schedules. Filters are another easy addition: our engine and cabin air filter replacement keeps air moving freely to the engine and into the cabin.

We also offer a fuel injection service, a transmission flush, a radiator flush and fill, differential service, a serpentine belt inspection and wiper blade replacement. See the full list on our car maintenance services page, or call 973-335-3000 and ask what is due on your vehicle.

— WARNING SIGNS —

Signs Your Car Is Due for an Oil Change

Most drivers go by the sticker on the windshield or the oil-life monitor on the dashboard, and that is the right place to start. There are other signs worth knowing too.

The oil light or maintenance reminder comes on. A maintenance reminder means the interval is up. A red oil pressure warning is different and more serious: it can mean the engine is low on oil or not getting enough pressure, so pull over safely and check before driving on.

The oil looks dark and gritty on the dipstick. Fresh oil is amber and smooth. Oil that is black, thick or gritty has picked up contaminants and is not protecting as well as it should.

The level is low. Engines burn or lose a little oil between changes. Checking the dipstick once a month, on level ground with the engine off, tells you whether it is time to top up or time to change it.

The engine sounds louder than usual. Ticking or knocking can mean parts are not being lubricated properly.

You smell oil or see exhaust smoke. Either one is worth having looked at promptly.

You have been driving hard. Towing, short trips, heavy traffic and very hot or cold weather all count as severe service in most owner’s manuals, and they shorten the interval between changes.
