— AT A GLANCE —

Morris County, NJ at a Glance

Morris County sits in north-central New Jersey. It was founded on March 15, 1739, and named after colonial governor Lewis Morris. The county seat is Morristown.

At the 2020 census, Morris County had 509,285 residents, making it the tenth-most populous county in the state. That count was the highest in the county’s history, up from 492,276 at the 2010 census. It covers about 481.5 square miles, including roughly 20.5 square miles of water. The county is made up of 39 municipalities: towns, townships, boroughs and one city.

Two municipalities stand out. Parsippany-Troy Hills, home to our shop, is the county’s most populous township. Rockaway Township covers the largest area. That second fact is a good example of how Morris County names can confuse newcomers: Rockaway Township and Rockaway Borough are separate municipalities, and the same goes for Boonton Township and the Town of Boonton.

— COMMUTERS —

Morris County Commuters and Car Care

Plenty of Morris County drivers split their week between the car and the train. NJ Transit’s Morristown Line stops at Morris Plains, and limited service reaches the Mount Tabor station. The Montclair-Boonton Line serves Boonton and Towaco. For households that drive to a station every weekday, short trips and stop-and-go traffic are part of the routine, and that routine is exactly what regular maintenance is for.

Because our drive-thru oil change needs no appointment, it fits around a commuting schedule. Our hours are Monday through Saturday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, so a Saturday stop works for many commuters.

Car Maintenance for Morris County Drivers

Beyond oil changes, our team handles the routine maintenance that keeps a vehicle running smoothly, each with a posted starting price:

Starting prices vary by vehicle. Call 973-335-3000 with your year, make and model, or see all services.

— FOUR SEASONS —

Morris County Weather and Your Vehicle

Morris County drivers get the full range of northern New Jersey weather: humid summers, cold winters with snow and road salt, and pollen-heavy springs. Each season puts its own load on a vehicle. Heat is hard on engine oil and cooling systems. Cold weather is hard on belts, batteries and wiper blades. Dust and pollen clog air filters faster.

That is why the services on this page tend to follow the calendar. A radiator flush and fill before summer or winter, fresh wiper blades before the first snow, and a new cabin air filter after pollen season are all common choices. Your owner’s manual remains the best guide to what your vehicle needs and when.

— CHOOSING AN OIL —

Choosing the Right Oil Change in Morris County, NJ

Our service menu offers four oil changes, so you can match the oil to your engine and how you drive:

  • Mobil 1 Oil Change, $99.99. Premium full synthetic oil for high-performance or luxury engines.
  • Mobil Super Synthetic Oil Change, $79.99. All-around synthetic oil for long-lasting protection and performance.
  • Mobil Super High Mileage Oil Change, $69.99. Formulated for vehicles with over 75,000 miles to help reduce leaks and wear.
  • Mobil Super Oil Change, $39.99. A budget-friendly conventional oil change for everyday driving.

Your owner’s manual lists the viscosity and specification your engine calls for. A car that spends its week on I-80 and I-287 and a car that mostly makes short runs to a train station may benefit from different choices, so if you are unsure, call 973-335-3000 before you come in. More detail is on our oil change page.

— EVERY VISIT —

What Every Oil Change Includes

Whichever oil you choose, the service follows the same approach. Hogwash provides quick oil changes, fluid checks and filter replacement for optimal engine performance. You pull into the drive-thru bay, stay in your vehicle while the work is done, and drive out when it is finished.

Premium oil does real work inside an engine. It helps prevent wear and sludge and helps extend the life of the vehicle, which matters in a county where many households depend on their cars for commuting, school runs and errands across several towns in a single day.

If your visit reveals that another service is due, such as a filter or a fluid flush, you can ask about it on the spot or plan it for a later trip.

— TOWN BY TOWN —

Morris County Towns by Road

Every town we serve has its own route to Route 46. A quick summary, with details on each town page:

  • Denville is crossed by I-80, and Route 53 ends at I-80 and US 46 in Denville.
  • Rockaway, the borough, sits near Route 80.
  • Mountain Lakes relies on Route 46, its only highway.
  • Boonton has I-287 and US 202 running through the center of town.
  • Montville is served by I-287, I-80, US-46 and US-202, and Pine Brook sits on US-46 at the southern end of the township.

— PLANNING AHEAD —

Planning Car Maintenance Around a Busy Morris County Week

Between commutes, school schedules and weekend errands, maintenance tends to slip until a warning light or a sticker reminder forces the issue. A little planning keeps it from becoming urgent.

Start with your owner’s manual and your vehicle’s oil life monitor if it has one. Those tell you when the next oil change is due and list the other scheduled items, such as filters, fluids and belt checks. Keep a note of what was done on each visit, so you can see at a glance what is coming up next.

Then group the work. Because our drive-thru oil change needs no appointment, it is easy to fit in on the way to or from somewhere else. If a tire rotation, an air filter or new wiper blades are also due, one stop can cover several items. Larger jobs such as a transmission flush or engine flush are worth a quick call first, at 973-335-3000, so you know what to expect for your vehicle.
