Hogwash Oil Change Center

—— SERVING LAKE HIAWATHA FROM US-46

Quick Oil Change in
Lake Hiawatha, NJ

Lake Hiawatha and our bay sit in the same township. Beverwyck Road runs south out of downtown and meets Route 46, and we are right there. Drive-thru Mobil 1, no appointment.

— YOUR OWN TOWNSHIP’S OIL BAY —

A Quick Oil Change That Never Leaves Parsippany-Troy Hills

Lake Hiawatha is not a separate town. It is a community of a little over 10,000 people, packed into roughly 1.1 square miles inside Parsippany-Troy Hills Township, with its own ZIP code of 07034 and its own downtown. That downtown is Beverwyck Road, the central street that runs through the middle of the community, carries most of its small businesses and leads directly to U.S. Route 46.

Hogwash Oil Change Center is at 1600 US-46, Parsippany, NJ 07054 — the same township, on the same highway Beverwyck Road feeds into. That is the whole pitch for a Lake Hiawatha driver: this is the oil change in your own municipality, not a trip out to a highway strip somewhere else. The bay is drive-thru. You roll in, stay in the driver’s seat, and a technician drains the old oil, fits a new filter, fills with Mobil 1 and checks your fluids around you. Nothing is booked in advance, and you stay in your vehicle.

Mobil 1 is the only oil we stock, in full synthetic and high-mileage formulas, because of how it protects an engine over a long interval. For the kind of driving Lake Hiawatha does — a lot of short runs to the shops on Beverwyck, the schools and the ball fields, with a highway commute stacked on top — that matters more than most drivers expect.

What Makes a Quick Oil Change Worth Coming Back To

Quick is easy to promise and easy to get wrong. Ours comes from the format, not from cutting the work short. The drive-thru bay removes the appointment and keeps you in your vehicle, while the job itself stays the same: old oil out, new filter on, Mobil 1 in, fluids checked.

The oil is the second piece. We stock Mobil 1 exclusively, full synthetic for most engines and high-mileage for older ones. Mobil 1 full synthetic is known for engine protection, efficiency and performance, and it suits how Lake Hiawatha cars actually get used: a short run down Beverwyck Road in the morning, a stop-and-go crawl onto Route 46 or I-80 at rush hour, then the same in reverse. Cars that never sit on an open road for long are exactly the cars that benefit from a synthetic.

The third is that we are local in the plainest sense. A Lake Hiawatha driver and this shop pay taxes to the same township. Our technicians see the same roads, the same potholes after a hard winter and the same salt on the same cars. Competitive pricing and a walk-in format mean the visit is short enough to fit into a Saturday errand run rather than taking one over.

And because the car wash shares the property, a car that has spent February on salted township roads can leave with clean oil and a clean underside in one stop.

— GETTING HERE FROM LAKE HIAWATHA —

From Beverwyck Road to Our Bay on Route 46

Because Beverwyck Road is the spine of Lake Hiawatha and it runs to Route 46, almost every trip here is the same trip with a different starting point.

From downtown Beverwyck Road

Follow Beverwyck Road south to Route 46. Lake Hiawatha is part of Parsippany-Troy Hills, the same township as our shop.

From the North Beverwyck and Knoll Road end

Head south on Beverwyck Road through the length of the community to Route 46, then west. This is the same corridor NJ Transit runs its local bus along, between Route 46 and Knoll Road, so it is a road most residents already drive daily.

From the Rockaway River side and the lake neighborhoods

From the streets nearer the river, cut across to Beverwyck Road and go south, or pick up Route 46 directly. Either way it is a short hop within the township.

When you arrive, pull into the drive-thru bay, put the car in park and stay where you are. When the work is done, you drive out the far side. The car wash is on the same lot if you want one on the same trip.

Mobil 1 Oil Change, Plus the Jobs Short-Trip Driving Creates

The core service is a Mobil 1 oil change: full synthetic or high-mileage Mobil 1, a new oil filter and a fluid check, done while you sit in the car. Around it, our technicians handle the routine maintenance that piles up on a car doing mostly local miles.

Tire rotation

Short trips mean a lot of low-speed turning, and turning wears the front tires faster than the rears. A tire rotation evens that out and takes very little extra time on top of an oil change.

Engine and cabin air filters

Lake Hiawatha sits in a dense, leafy pocket of the township near the Rockaway River, and pollen and leaf debris find their way into filters every year. Replacing the engine air filter and cabin air filter keeps airflow clean and can be done during your visit.

Fuel injection service

A car that rarely gets fully warm builds injector deposits faster. A fuel injection service clears those deposits and helps the engine run the way it should.

Fluids, belts and wipers

We also handle transmission flush, radiator flush and fill, differential service, serpentine belt inspection and wiper blade replacement. Ask in the bay for details. The full list is on our services page.

Lake Hiawatha: From Summer Retreat to Year-Round Neighborhood

Lake Hiawatha began as a summer community. Today it is a year-round neighborhood inside Parsippany-Troy Hills, with its own ZIP code, 07034, and its own downtown along Beverwyck Road.

One neighborhood institution has been around for most of that history. The Lake Hiawatha branch of the Parsippany Library, at 68 Nokomis Avenue, was established in 1937 and expanded in a 1994 renovation. It sits close to the Parsippany Community Center, Volunteers Park and the North Beverwyck Road shops, within walking distance for many residents. Chief Hiawatha Park on North Beverwyck Road and Lake Hiawatha Park on Lake Shore Drive round out the local green space.

Because so much of daily life happens within a small area, Lake Hiawatha cars do a lot of short trips: to the shops, the library, the parks and the schools. Short trips often do not let an engine fully warm up, which is one reason oil choice and a regular schedule matter here. Our oil change page explains the four options, and neighbors in Mount Tabor, the other Parsippany-Troy Hills community with its own page, face the same pattern.

If you are already running errands on Beverwyck Road, our drive-thru bay on Route 46 is a practical stop: no appointment is needed, and you stay in your vehicle.

The branch library reflects the neighborhood it serves. Besides current best sellers and DVDs, it offers books in Spanish, Gujarati, Hindi and Chinese, along with public computers and programs for children and adults. It is one of three Parsippany Library locations, alongside the main library on Halsey Road and the Mount Tabor branch. Lake Hiawatha is also part of Parsippany-Troy Hills, the most populous municipality in Morris County.

Its 1994 renovation expanded the building to better meet the needs of the surrounding community, and materials can be borrowed from any Parsippany Library facility.

Oil Change Questions From Lake Hiawatha Drivers

Here are some of the most common questions about our services at Hogwash.

We are at 1600 US-46, Parsippany, NJ 07054, which is the same municipality. Lake Hiawatha is a community inside Parsippany-Troy Hills Township, so a trip to our bay never leaves the township. Beverwyck Road runs from downtown Lake Hiawatha to Route 46.

You stay in the car and the work happens around you, so it is a short stop rather than a drop-off. There is no booking, and you stay in your vehicle.

No. Drive in whenever we are open: Monday to Saturday until 5:00 PM.

Short local trips are harder on oil than highway miles, because the engine never fully warms up. Follow the oil-life indicator rather than a fixed number, and use a full synthetic like Mobil 1, which is built to hold up across a longer interval.

Yes. The car wash is on the same property as the oil bay, and it stays open on Sundays from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Mobil Super $39.99, Mobil Super High Mileage $69.99, Mobil Super Synthetic $79.99 and Mobil 1 $99.99. Other services have the starting prices listed on this page.

Yes: tire rotation, air filters, fuel injection service, transmission flush, radiator flush and fill, differential service, engine flush, 4×4 drive service, serpentine belts and wiper blades.

— WHAT TO EXPECT —

Your First Visit From Lake Hiawatha, Step by Step

A typical Lake Hiawatha visit is barely a detour. A driver finishes up on Beverwyck Road, turns south instead of north, heads for Route 46 and pulls into our bay. The technician has the old oil draining and the new filter ready before the conversation about which Mobil 1 formula the car takes is finished. Fluids get checked, the wipers get a look if you ask, and the car rolls out the far side of the bay. A wash on the same lot, and you are back on 46 heading home.

Between visits, keep in mind that a car doing township errands is doing short trips, and short trips shorten an oil interval more than the odometer suggests. Let the oil-life indicator lead, and if a warning light or a burnt smell shows up first, call 973-335-3000.
