Pine Brook is on Route 46. So are we. There is no interchange, no detour and nothing to book — just follow Route 46 to our drive-thru bay for a Mobil 1 oil change.
Pine Brook is the southern section of Montville Township, the part that was farmland for most of its history and is now given over to commercial routes and employment corridors. It sits where U.S. Route 46 meets Bloomfield Avenue at the Essex County line — Route 159 runs the short connection between them — with I-80 immediately to the north. It has its own volunteer fire organization, its own identity separate from Montville and Towaco up on Route 202, and a road layout dominated by one highway.
That highway is ours. Hogwash Oil Change Center is at 1600 US-46, Parsippany, NJ 07054, on the same continuous stretch of Route 46 that runs through Pine Brook. Of every community we serve, this is the one with the simplest directions: stay on Route 46. There is no interchange to time, no county road to cut across and no exit to miss.
The bay is drive-thru, which fits how Pine Brook works. It is a place of deliveries, trades vehicles, warehouse shifts and people who are already in the car for other reasons. You roll in, stay in the driver’s seat, and a technician drains the old oil, fits a new filter, fills with Mobil 1 and checks your fluids around you. Nothing is booked, and you stay in your vehicle.
Pine Brook vehicles tend to earn their keep. A van on a delivery route, a truck running between the Route 46 and Bloomfield Avenue businesses, a car doing a shift at one of the employment sites and a school run either side of it — these are engines that start cold, run loaded and idle a lot. Loads and idling both raise oil temperature, and heat is the thing that thins oil and lets deposits form.
We use Mobil 1 exclusively for that reason. Mobil 1 full synthetic is known for engine protection, efficiency and performance, and it holds a stable film through repeated heat cycles better than a conventional oil does. For a vehicle that has already done a lot of years of this kind of work, the high-mileage formula is often the right call, and our technicians will tell you which one your engine wants rather than defaulting.
The second reason is that a working vehicle cannot spare a morning. Drive-thru service with no appointment means the oil change happens between jobs rather than instead of one. Every Mobil 1 change still includes a new oil filter and a fluid check — there is no faster tier where things get left out.
The car wash sits on the same property, which is worth knowing for anyone whose vehicle carries a company name on the side.
This is the shortest set of directions on the site, because Pine Brook and our bay share a highway.
Get on Route 46 and stay on it.
Take the Route 159 connection up to Route 46. If you have come off Bloomfield Avenue from the Fairfield side, this is the natural way onto the highway.
Come off I-80 at the Pine Brook exit onto Route 46 and continue. Drivers heading home from the east often find 46 moves better than 80 at that hour anyway.
When you arrive, pull into the bay, put the vehicle in park and stay in it. When the oil change is done you drive out the far side and rejoin 46. The car wash is on the same lot.
The core service is a Mobil 1 oil change: full synthetic or high-mileage Mobil 1, a new oil filter and a fluid check, done while you sit in the vehicle. Around it, our technicians take care of the items that working miles consume first.
A loaded vehicle wears its drive tires faster, and highway miles do not even that out by themselves. A tire rotation keeps the set matched and slots straight onto an oil change.
Route 46 traffic and the surrounding commercial yards put plenty of dust through both filters. Replacing the engine air filter and cabin air filter restores airflow and cleans up the cab.
Idling between stops is a steady producer of injector deposits. A fuel injection service clears them and helps hold fuel economy on a vehicle that lives on the road.
We also handle transmission flush, radiator flush and fill, differential service, serpentine belt inspection and wiper blade replacement. Ask in the bay for details. The full list is on our services page.

Pine Brook sits at the southern end of Montville Township, on the low ground known as the Pine Brook flats between the Rockaway and Passaic rivers. In the mid-1800s it developed as its own village center, set apart from Montville, and it was known as a fertile agricultural area; its sandy loam soil made it good farmland.
Transportation has always been part of the story. The Parsippany and Rockaway Turnpike, chartered in 1809, ran through the area, and today US-46 runs through the center of the community, with Interstate 80 passing through as well. In 1881, the township’s historian noted a store and a post office at Pine Brook, and the local Methodist church, built around 1843, had the largest congregation of that denomination in the township.
Pine Brook also had a place in racing history. The Pine Brook Speedway operated from 1962 until 1989, was designed for midget car racing, and became one of the earliest sites for microstock racing.
Today, with Route 46 at its center and I-80 close by, Pine Brook is a place where a lot of vehicles work hard: commuters, contractors and delivery drivers alike. That kind of mileage is where regular oil changes and fluid services earn their keep. See our Montville page for the rest of the township, and neighboring East Hanover.
An 1881 history of Montville Township describes its boundaries in terms Pine Brook drivers would still recognize: the Passaic River on the east and the Rockaway River on the south and west. The same account noted that, for its size, the township had more tillable land than its neighbors, much of it in the south, and it listed Pine Brook among the township’s five school districts.
Pine Brook’s position between two rivers and two major highways explains a lot about daily driving here. Local errands and highway runs often happen on the same day, and that mix is where a regular oil change schedule helps. The township’s other communities, Montville and Towaco, are covered on our Montville page.
In that 1881 account, the Methodist congregation at Pine Brook kept a parsonage near its church and maintained a settled pastor. Today Pine Brook is one of the three sections of Montville Township, alongside Montville and Towaco, in a township of about 20 square miles and roughly 20,000 residents. To the south, the Rockaway River separates Pine Brook from East Hanover.

A typical Pine Brook visit barely counts as a trip. A driver finishes at a Route 46 business, joins the highway as they would anyway, and continues to 1600 US-46. Into the bay, park, stay seated. The technician has the old oil draining and the new filter ready while you settle whether the vehicle takes full synthetic or high-mileage Mobil 1. Fluids checked, wipers looked at if you raise it, and out the far side straight back onto 46. A wash on the same lot if the vehicle needs it.
Between visits, keep an eye on the oil-life indicator rather than a fixed mileage figure, particularly if the vehicle spends its day loaded or idling. Both add engine hours the odometer does not show. If a warning light or a burnt smell arrives first, call 973-335-3000.
